If you're lucky enough to spend some time in Australia, you might wonder what there is to do and see. To help you, we've compiled a list that includes 20 of our favourite activities and landmarks to do and see in Australia. Trust us, you're going to want to add all of these to your Australian adventure bucket list!

1. Discover Melbourne's laneways

Melbourne's iconic laneways are a must-see for any visitor to the city. These narrow alleyways are lined with cafes, bars, and graffiti art and offer a glimpse into the city's vibrant street culture.

2. Visit Sydney Opera House 

The Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic buildings in the world. Located on Sydney Harbour, it is an instantly recognizable symbol of Australia. The Opera House is home to various performance venues, including a concert hall, an opera theatre, and a theatre restaurant. It also houses a museum and a Visitor Centre. Wembury Marine Park is a great place to get up close and personal with crocodiles. Visitors can learn about the different species of crocodiles, their habitat, and their behaviour. They can also see how these amazing creatures hunt and eat their prey. In addition, the park offers a variety of interactive exhibits, including a freshwater crocodile enclosure where visitors can feed the animals. The park also has a saltwater crocodile enclosure, home to some of the largest crocodiles in the world. Visitors can look at these incredible animals and learn about their natural history.

11. Take a picture with the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour. 

The Big Banana in Coffs Harbour is a local landmark and a must-see for any visitor. Standing over six metres tall, the Big Banana is hard to miss! But there's more to this giant fruit than meets the eye. The Big Banana has been a popular tourist attraction since 1964 when it was built as part of a marketing campaign for the region's banana growers. Today, the Big Banana is home to various attractions, including a museum, a wildlife park, and even a toboggan ride. So if you're ever in Coffs Harbour, be sure to take a picture with the Big Banana!

12. Stand under a waterfall at Litchfield National Park. 

Litchfield National Park is one of Australia's most beloved tourist destinations. With its spectacular waterfalls, rainforest-lined hiking trails, and native wildlife, it's no wonder people come from all over the world to experience its natural beauty. Of course, one of the best ways to enjoy Litchfield National Park is to stand beneath one of its many cascading waterfalls. Doing so provides a cooling and refreshing respite from the heat, and the thundering sound of the falls is an unforgettable experience. The best way to explore Katherine Gorge is by canoe. Canoes can be hired from a number of different companies in Katherine, and several different routes can be taken. The most popular route takes visitors through the first four gorges, taking around four hours to complete. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to stop, swim or explore the rock pools.
