What is an Australian Student visa, and what are its requirements

An Australian student visa is a type of visa that allows international students to study in Australia. To be eligible for a student visa, an applicant must be accepted into a full-time course of study at an Australian educational institution registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Applying for an Australian student visa will cost you AUD650 and allow you to stay in Australia for up to 5 years, in line with your enrolment.

What You Need For Your Visa Application:

  • Must be over six years of age or older.
  • Be enrolled in a course of study in Australia.
  • Make welfare arrangements if you are under 18 years of age.
  • Meet English language requirements
  • Hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) or fall in one of the exemption categories.

The applicant must also have sufficient financial resources to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses while in Australia and must meet English language proficiency requirements. Additionally, the applicant must have health insurance and must not have a criminal record.
